Pathologist

Dr. Ghoddusi brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in Diagnostic and Research Veterinary Pathology to Comparative Biosciences, Inc. (CBI). He provides specialist knowledge and technical expertise in interpretive gross and histopathology at both light microscope and ultrastructural levels, compiles pathology reports for preclinical studies, oversees necropsy conduct and training, and provides technical expertise and training in histopathology and immunohistochemistry techniques. Dr. Ghoddusi is also a Study Director for GLP and nonGLP preclinical studies.

Prior to joining CBI, Dr. Ghoddusi has had extensive experience in providing expertise in interpretive gross and histopathology at prestigious institutions, including the University of California at Davis, the Wyoming Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in Laramie, Wyoming, and the Animal Health Laboratories, Tasmania, Australia. He has authored/co-authored more than 15 peer-reviewed journal articles.

Dr. Ghoddusi is a member of the Society of Toxicologic Pathology, the C.L. Davis Foundation, and the Australian Society for Veterinary Pathology. He received the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Urmia, Iran in 1989, and later in 1998 received his Ph.D. in Veterinary Pathology from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Napoleon F. Alejandro, PhD, DABT

Senior Scientist/Study Director

Dr. Alejandro is a Senior Scientist/Study Director at Comparative Biosciences, Inc. and is responsible for writing protocols, the overall conduct of the studies, interpretation, analysis, documentation, and writing reports. Prior to joining CBI, Dr. Alejandro served as a Senior Study Director and ToxControl (an in-house electronic data capturing system) manager at RCC North America (RCC NA). Prior to RCC NA, Dr. Alejandro served as a Project team representative (Toxicology) at Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for four years in the Development of small molecules in the therapeutic areas of immunology and anti-virals. He has over six years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and CRO industries.

Dr. Alejandro holds a B.S. in Medical Technology from SUNY at Stony Brook and served as a medical technologist in the clinical chemistry department at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital for four years. Dr. Alejandro holds an M.S. in Toxicology from St. John’s University and a Ph.D. in Toxicology from Texas A&M University. Dr. Alejandro is certified by the American Board of Toxicology.
